Dead Man's Blues is a very readable work from an obviously inexperienced author. There are some interesting characters, like a heroin-addicted Texas Ranger, and the protagonist's father, a sociopathic killer who seems bent on his own destruction.There are some editorial glitches and some technical clangers, especially with regard to the firearms. But Mr. Holscher writes well, and the story moves along, holding the reader's attention. It appears to be self-published; if that is the case, it compares very well to other self-published crime novels I have encountered.

This is the best of Jason's three noverls. He has matured greatly. Dialogue is especially well developed and the whole setting is credible. i can't wait for his next adventure.
